CHANGES

Hi hi,

Happy Monday...

I'm pleased to say that in a few weeks, we are changing the whole look of Tables Ladders and Chairs. We are renaming our site and trying to give back to the community. There comes a time in life where you look back and decide if you wanna move on or change the direction of where you are heading towards.

Tables Ladders and Chairs, was an outlet for me that helped me put myself out there and now I know where I need to be going.

With the birth of our new site PAPER&PANTRY, we are focusing more on what makes our lives so filled with joy. Places we eat, styles photo shoots and starting an organization that gives back to women in East Africa.

Please follow our instagram page @paperpantry and suppor us in our new venture!!!

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Kat

DIY: Gold Feather Headband

Hello,

The holidays are almost officially here. Yaay!! So last night I was online looking at the S/S 2014 accessory trend  (OMG so many cute things) and I happen to stumble upon all these lovely ideas for the blog. From flower wreaths, which is not that groundbreaking when you hear spring, but the key is delicate. It also seems like gold is making a come back, unless if it was back and I had no clue, nevertheless, gold to me has always been one of those metallic colors that I'm so, so about. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't, on everyone else it looks amazing, thank god for the person who came up with rose gold, which is a fancy name for copper, and a nicer way to look at soldering wire in my opinion.

With that being said, I'm yet another victim of this gold bug that is going around. I'm going through a serious gold phase right now and I guess in some way, it's good to know I'm keeping up with the trend.

I was having a chat with my good friend Tam the other day, and he was telling me about a feather headband he had seen on Pinterest. So I thought to myself, how can I incorporate, the feathers (especially since I had a whole bag at home) and gold, without being too obvious. "A gold feather headband". I did some digging online, and little did I know I had all the supplies.

 SUPPLIES:
Some feathers (you can find these at any craft store)
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Plain fabric headband (I had an old one but also any craft store would have this)
18K gold leafing pen (Also can find at any craft  store)

HOW TO:

Protect your work surface, since the gold leafing pen dries fast, you might not be able to clean after.
Start by painting the feathers, there really isn't a right or wrong way, mine had some white showing.
I painted my headband with the pen also just in case you could see through the feathers
After all feathers are painted and dry, begin assembling your headband, using the hot glue. Do not overdo it with the glue, a little will go a long way.

Have fun making this headband, and let me know how yours turns out.
Sincerely
K.

DIY: Bow Tie Clips

Hi hi,

Happy weekend everyone..I got to hang out with my little sister the other day and we made these super easy cute bows for my nieces. I thought these would be cute to used as stocking stuffers.

SUPPLIES:
Felt, you can find this at any craft or fabric store
Scissors
Glue and a hot glue gun
Clips, also can be found at a local craft store

HOW TO:
Cut felt into 1 inch strips
To make bow tails cut off the ends into triangle shapes
On one end of the felt strip cut a small hole and insert the other end as shown below, do not pull all the way

Using another strip of felt, cut into 1/4 of an inch, wrap the bow and glue all pieces together.
Cut off excess felt (the 1/4 inch one) and glue the clip to the bow.

Have fun making these.

Models, the beautiful Trina and Daniela

Have a happy Sunday!!
Sincerely

RECIPE: Spiced Mixed Nuts

Hi hi,

Today felt like it went so fast, I stayed home all day and decided to come up with easy recipes that everyone can make..This spiced nuts medley that I threw together was inspired by a pre-made nut mixture I had purchased for my Stella and Dot party last weekend.

They seemed to be a big hit and as much as I wanted to take credit for them, I couldn't do it with a straight face . I wanted to make something I can truly give the recipe if I had to...and here we are. Nuts are a healthy snack that nearly everybody likes... pair them with some craft beer or even a cheese platter and all your guests will be talking!

SUPPLIES:
About a pound mixed nuts
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon minced nutmeg
About 2 sprigs of rosemary
1/4 cup of olive oil.

HOW TO:
Preheat the oven to 350, in a medium baking sheet spread out the nuts and bake for about 10 mins, checking regularly. Do not over cook as  you may burn the nuts.
Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine all the dry ingredients. Add olive oil and mix together till mixture is like soft paste.
In a large bowl, put toasted nuts and mix the paste till all nuts are covered.
Serve.

Enjoy these spiced mixed nuts.
Sincerely
K.
